New
Everyday Life Lessons
Our
Everyday Life section continues to grow with the addition of three new lessons. Two of the new lessons focus on the food label – Food Labels and Label Practice. The U.S. Food and Drug Administration
requires nutrition labeling for most foods with the exception of meat
and
poultry. The food label provides you with information regarding
calories, fats,
protein, carbohydrates, and more. With all that information, it can be difficult to
find exactly what you are looking for. Since knowing what goes into our
bodies is an
important step in being in control of our health, it’s important for
you to
know where to locate that information.
We’ve also added a new
Counting Pills lesson. In this lesson
you will do more than just practice your counting skills.
You’ll also need to
locate the information necessary to solve a problem and use a grid to
identify
the answer -- two skills you'll use in a variety of
situations.

Let's Blog About It
GCFLearnFree.org has entered the “blogosphere.” In
response to changing trends in online
learning, we have added
a blog to our website. What can you expect to find on
the blog? A little bit of everything. You will find podcasts and
articles on a
variety of topics such as basic computing, popular new sites, hot
technology,
and more. Additionally, we will create videos that address computing
topics,
and provide tips to help you solve some common problems. Users will be
able to
access the blog content from the GCFLearnFree.org website, as well as
other
means including Live Bookmarks, RSS feeds, and iTunes.
Can't
find the topic that you're looking for in
our lessons? Let
us know and we just may be able to include the topic on our
blog.
