Opening a File Created by Microsoft PowerPoint

Impress has the capability to open files that were created in Microsoft PowerPoint and to update them in an Impress presentation.

To open a Microsoft PowerPoint file:

• Choose File Open from the menu bar.
  
  
  
  
• The Open dialog box appears.
  
  
  
  
• In the Look-in list, click the drive, folder, or Internet location that contains the file you want to open.
• If you have created any folders, look in the folder list, and open the folder that contains the file. Once the file is displayed, click on the file you want to open.
• Click in the Files of Type drop-down menu and select any of the following choices:
  
  
  
  Microsoft PowerPoint 97/200o/XP (*.ppt, *.pos)
  Microsoft PowerPoint 97/200/XP Template (*.pot)
  
  
• Select the file you want to open.
• Click the Open button.
