If you're new to Meetup getting started is simple. Just read more about it and follow the instructions provided in this free lesson.
Now that you know what Meetup is, you're probably wondering how to use it. Luckily, there are only a handful of steps required before you're able to start joining your own groups, attending events, and meeting new people who share the same passions as you.
Before joining any Meetup groups, you'll need to create a Meetup account. This is a pretty simple process, and the site guides you through each of the steps.
After signing up for an account, you'll be greeted with the homepage each time you sign in. From here, you can search for Meetup groups, access your profile, see what events your current Meetup groups have planned, and more.
Click the buttons in the interactive below to learn more about the Meetup homepage.
Click the Profile menu to gain access to your profile and settings, as well as to sign out.
Click the Notifications button to view your notifications. You'll receive notifications when updates are made in your Meetup groups.
Click the Messages button to open your messages on a new page. From here, you can both send and receive messages to and from other Meetup members and organizers.
You can use the search bar to search for both Meetup groups and events that are coming up in your area or any area of your choosing.
Here, you'll find all of the upcoming events for the Meetup groups you belong to.
You can use the events filter to select which events and Meetup groups you would like to appear on your homepage. Options include all Meetups in your area, Meetups you belong to, suggested Meetups, and only events you are planning on attending.
You can use the calendar to view specific days and the events occurring on these days.
Click here if you want to create your own Meetup if you can't find one for a certain interest in your area. However, it's important to note that there is a monthly fee for running your own group.
